OFFICIAL: John Carpenter’s “The Thing” premieres on 4K Ultra HD – Sept. 7

HOT 4K NEWS

UNIVERSAL PICTURES Home Entertainment will release director John Carpenter’s horror classic “The Thing” on 4K Ultra HD on September 7. The sci-fi film hit theaters on June 25, 1982.

At a U.S. research station in Antarctica, a twelve-man research team finds an alien being that has fallen from the sky and has remained buried in the snow for over 100,000 years. Soon it is unfrozen and unleashed, creating havoc and terror as it changes forms and becomes one of them.

Based on John W Campbell’s 1938 novella “Who Goes There?,” and loosely a remake of Chris Nyby’s adaptation “The Thing from Another World” (1951). Kurt Russell stars as RJ MacReady, a helicopter pilot at Outpost 31 in Antarctica.
